Esculin, a fluorescent coumarin glucoside, is an active ingredient of ash bark[1]. Esculin ameliorates cognitive impairment in experimental diabetic nephropathy (DN), and exerts antioxidative stress and antiinflammatory effects, via the MAPK signaling pathway[2].
